Emergency AC Repair in Bonita Springs, FL

I am Derrik Speck, owner of True Care Air LLC, and I am the one who does the work. I run after-hours no-cool calls in Bonita Springs, along Bonita Beach Road and Imperial Parkway, out to Coconut Road and into Bonita Bay. The phone is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I pick up when I can, and when I am on a job the answering system takes your details and I call you back myself. Call or text (239) 810-2500.

Seasonal homes fail the week you come back

Bonita has a lot of houses that sit empty for months. The pattern is always the same. The owner flies in, walks through the door, drops the thermostat from 80 down to 72, and the system runs flat out for six hours after sitting idle since April. Then it quits that evening. A capacitor that was already weak gives up under that load. A drain line that dried out and grew a blockage backs up and trips the float switch. Sometimes the condenser has been sitting under a tree all summer collecting debris and it overheats.

If you are opening a seasonal house, do not drop the thermostat fifteen degrees on arrival. Bring it down a few degrees at a time and give it a day. And if it is going to fail, it will fail at night, which is when the booking form is no help to you.

After 5pm, call or text me

Online booking on this website only offers appointment slots up to 5pm. If it is evening and your AC is down, the form will only offer you tomorrow and I will never see that you needed someone tonight. Call or text instead. That is the whole reason my cell is on this page.

What the visit costs

Dispatch is priced by when the appointment starts.

  • Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm: $109 residential, $129 commercial.
  • Saturday and Sunday daytime: $129 residential, $129 commercial.
  • Any visit starting after 5pm or before 8am on any day: $150 residential, $200 commercial.
  • Holidays: $159.

The residential diagnostic is $109. The full repair price is given before work begins.

Three things worth checking first

  • The breaker in the panel and the disconnect box outside. On a house that has been closed up, someone may have shut one of them off on purpose before they left.
  • The air filter. If nobody changed it before the house was closed, it is filthy, and a filthy filter freezes the coil and blows warm air.
  • Standing water near the air handler. That means a clogged drain line tripped the float switch, which is extremely common on a system that sat unused.

What I can fix tonight and what I cannot

I stock capacitors, contactors, float switches, fan motors and refrigerant. A failed capacitor is the most common after-hours no-cool call I get and it is usually a same-night fix. A tripped float switch on a clogged drain is usually a same-night fix too.

What I cannot do at midnight is replace a compressor or put in a coil that has to be ordered. Those need a supply house and daylight. If a house sat unused for eight months and the compressor is locked up, I will tell you that at the door rather than pretending there is a trick to it. If the system is finished, there is 0% Wells Fargo financing for qualified buyers, and the replacement cost calculator gives you a number before any conversation about equipment.

Most emergency calls were preventable months earlier

Almost everything I get called out for at night was catchable on a spring visit. That goes double for a seasonal home, where the right move is a service visit scheduled before you arrive rather than after the system quits. That is what maintenance in Bonita Springs is for, and the Southwest Florida tune-up program is built around exactly this timing. For work that can wait for business hours, see my AC repair and HVAC service in Bonita Springs page, and the Southwest Florida emergency AC repair page explains how after-hours calls run across the rest of the area.
