Where a Mini Split Is the Right Call

Where It Is Not
If your whole house is uncomfortable, a mini split is a bandage on the wrong wound. That is usually a sizing, duct or equipment problem, and the fix is ductwork or a properly sized central system, not a head on the wall. We will tell you that instead of selling you the easier job.
Why Ductless Works Well in This Climate
Mini splits are inverter driven, which means the compressor modulates instead of slamming on and off. In practical terms that means it runs at low capacity for long stretches, and long run times are exactly what pulls humidity out of the air. In a climate where the comfort problem is as much moisture as temperature, that matters more than the SEER number on the box.
They also do not lose anything to duct, because there is no duct. Whatever the unit produces lands in the room.
What We Install
We are an authorized American Standard dealer, and we also carry a second line that runs 17 SEER2 R-32 mini splits, which gives us a lower price point for a garage or workshop where you do not need premium equipment. Single head or multi head depending on how many spaces you are conditioning.
Sizing matters more on these than people expect. An oversized mini split in a small room short cycles, never dehumidifies, and leaves the space cold and clammy. We measure the space rather than guessing from square footage alone.
Mini Split Repair
We service ductless systems too, including units we did not install. Common failures are the condensate pump, the outdoor board, a refrigerant leak at the flare connections, and dirty blower wheels, which get filthy fast in a garage. A diagnostic is the standard $109 residential rate and it is credited toward the repair when we do the work.
