Why is my AC running but not cooling my home?

You'll know exactly what shape your system is in when we're done.
How often should I change my air filter?
In Florida, every 30–60 days is a good rule of thumb for most households. If you have pets, allergies, or a dusty environment, check it monthly. A clogged filter is the #1 cause of AC inefficiency and early breakdowns — it's the simplest thing you can do to protect your system.
Why is it important to clean the condensate drain line?
Florida's humidity means your AC removes a lot of moisture from the air. That moisture drains out through the condensate line — and in our climate, algae and mold love to grow in it. A clogged drain line can cause water to back up into your home, triggering a safety shutoff or causing water damage. We clear it at every tune-up.

What size AC unit do I need for my home?
Sizing depends on your home's square footage, insulation, ceiling height, window placement, and sun exposure — not just a simple square footage formula. An oversized unit cools too fast without removing humidity, leaving your home clammy. An undersized unit runs constantly. We do a proper load calculation to get it right.
How long does an AC installation take?
A standard replacement of an existing system typically takes 4–8 hours. New construction or more complex installations may take longer. We'll give you a clear time estimate before we start so you can plan your day.
What SEER rating should I look for in a new unit?
SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) measures how efficiently a unit cools. In Florida, a minimum of SEER 15–16 is required by federal standards, but we recommend considering SEER 18–20+ for maximum energy savings given how much we run our systems here. Higher SEER units cost more upfront but can pay back significantly in lower electric bills.
