Ductwork Repair & Replacement in Southwest Florida

You can buy the most efficient air conditioner made and still have a hot bedroom and a $400 power bill, because the duct is where a lot of Southwest Florida homes quietly lose the fight. Flex duct sitting in a 130 degree attic, boots pulled loose from ceiling registers, runs crushed under storage boxes, and tape that gave up a decade ago. The system is fine. The delivery is not.

True Care Air repairs and replaces ductwork across Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres, Bonita Springs, Estero and Naples. Licensed CAC1824801, insured, owner-operated.

To Be Clear About What We Do and Do Not Do

We do duct repair, duct replacement, sealing, and adding or relocating runs. We do not do air duct cleaning. We do not own the equipment for it and we are not going to pretend otherwise or subcontract it out and mark it up. If cleaning is genuinely what you need, we will say so and you should call a company that specializes in it.

What Usually Goes Wrong Here

  • Flex duct that has sagged and kinked, choking airflow to whatever room is at the end of that run
  • Boots separated from the ceiling register, so conditioned air dumps straight into the attic
  • Old R6 insulation that is not enough for a Florida attic, sweating and dripping onto drywall
  • Return duct that is undersized for the equipment, starving the blower
  • Rodent damage, which is more common in Lehigh Acres and the older Cape Coral neighborhoods than anyone likes to admit
  • Runs that were never balanced, so the room farthest from the air handler never keeps up

How We Diagnose It

We start in the attic, not at the thermostat. Static pressure across the system tells us whether the blower is fighting the duct. Temperature at the register versus temperature at the coil tells us how much cooling is being lost between the two. Then we physically look at every run, because a photograph of a disconnected boot ends the conversation faster than any number does.

A diagnostic visit is the standard $109 residential rate, and it is credited toward the repair when we do the work.

Repair or Replace

Not every duct problem is a rip-out. A few disconnected boots, a couple of crushed runs and some proper sealing is a repair, and it is the right call when the rest of the system is sound. Replacement makes sense when the duct is original to an older home, when the insulation value is too low for this climate, or when the whole layout was undersized from the start and no amount of patching fixes the room that has never been comfortable.

We install R8 flex duct, which matters here in a way it does not up north. If you are replacing the air conditioner anyway, doing the duct at the same time is cheaper than doing it twice and it is the difference between a new system that performs and a new system that just looks new. See AC installation and what a replacement actually costs.

Permits and Doing It Properly

Duct replacement in Lee and Collier County is permitted work. We pull the mechanical permit, do the job to code, and get it inspected. That paperwork matters when you sell the house and a home inspector starts asking questions about work that was done without one.

Financing on Larger Duct Work

A full duct replacement is real money. 0% financing is available for qualified buyers, and repairs can go on a no-interest plan as well.
