Emergency AC Repair in Cape Coral, FL
I am Derrik Speck, the owner of True Care Air LLC, and I am the technician who comes to the house. I run after-hours no-cool calls across Cape Coral, from Del Prado and Diplomat Parkway out to Pine Island Road and Burnt Store Road. The phone is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call or text (239) 810-2500.
Salt air is why Cape Coral calls look the way they do
Cape Coral is different from the inland cities and the failures show it. Salt air off the canals and the Gulf eats electrical parts. Contactors corrode and stick or burn their points. Capacitor cases swell early. Condenser coils and the wiring at the disconnect take a beating the further west and south you go, and homes sitting on a canal near Burnt Store Road see it worse than a house sitting mid-Cape. That is why my after-hours calls here skew hard toward electrical failures rather than mechanical ones. It is also good news at eleven at night, because electrical failures are the ones I can usually fix on the spot.
After 5pm you have to call or text
Read this part before you do anything else. The online booking on this site only offers appointment slots up to 5pm. If it is eight in the evening and the house is climbing past 85, the booking form will offer you tomorrow and I will not know your system is down. Call or text me instead. Texts get through at any hour.
What it costs to get me out
Dispatch is priced by the appointment start time.
- Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm: $109 residential, $129 commercial.
- Saturday and Sunday daytime: $129 residential, $129 commercial.
- Any visit starting after 5pm or before 8am on any day: $150 residential, $200 commercial.
- Holidays: $159.
The residential diagnostic is $109. You get the full repair price before I begin, not after.
Check these three things first
- The breaker in the panel and the disconnect box outside the house. In the Cape the outdoor disconnect is the one that gets corroded and quietly stops making contact.
- The air filter. If it is grey and matted, it can freeze the coil, and a frozen coil pushes warm air.
- Standing water near the air handler. That means the drain line clogged and the float switch shut the system down to protect the house.
What I can fix tonight and what I cannot
I stock capacitors, contactors, float switches, fan motors and refrigerant. A failed capacitor is the single most common after-hours no-cool call and it is usually a same-night fix. Given what salt does to hardware around here, a burned contactor is a close second and it is also a same-night fix.
What I cannot do at midnight is replace a compressor or install a coil that has to be ordered. Those are daylight jobs with parts behind them, and anybody promising otherwise is not telling you the truth. If the system is at the end of its life, I will say so, and there is 0% Wells Fargo financing for qualified buyers. The replacement cost calculator will give you a ballpark before we ever sit down.
Most of these calls were preventable months ago
Almost every emergency I run in Cape Coral was visible during a spring visit. A corroded contactor, a capacitor drifting out of tolerance, a drain line starting to close up. Coastal equipment needs the coil rinsed and the electrical inspected more often than inland equipment does, which is the whole argument for yearly maintenance here in Cape Coral and for the broader Southwest Florida tune-up program. If your problem can wait until business hours, my normal AC repair and HVAC service in Cape Coral page is the right place to start, and you can read how after-hours work runs region-wide on the Southwest Florida emergency AC repair page.
