Emergency AC Repair in Fort Myers, FL

I am Derrik Speck. I own True Care Air LLC and I am the one who shows up. I am based in Fort Myers, which means this is the city I reach fastest. If your air handler quits at nine at night in Gateway, off the Daniels Corridor, or in South Fort Myers, you are not waiting on an answering service in another state to page somebody. The phone is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I pick up when I can, and when I am on a job the answering system takes your details and I call you back myself.

After 5pm, call or text. Do not use the booking form.

This is the most important thing on this page. Online booking on this website only offers appointment slots up to 5pm. If it is seven in the evening and the house is at 84 degrees, the form will hand you a slot for tomorrow and I will never know you were sitting there sweating tonight. Call or text (239) 810-2500. A text at 11pm reaches me. A booking form at 11pm does not.

What the visit costs

Dispatch is priced by when the appointment starts, not by how the call gets described on the phone.

  • Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm: $109 residential, $129 commercial.
  • Saturday and Sunday daytime: $129 residential, $129 commercial.
  • Any visit starting after 5pm or before 8am, any day: $150 residential, $200 commercial.
  • Holidays: $159.

The residential diagnostic is $109. You get the full repair price before I start. Nobody finds out what it costs after the fact.

Three things to check before you call me

  • The breaker in the panel and the disconnect box outside. Both of them. A tripped disconnect at the condenser looks exactly like a dead system.
  • The air filter. A filthy filter chokes airflow and freezes the coil, and a frozen coil blows warm air.
  • Standing water near the air handler. That means a clogged drain line tripped the float switch and shut the system off on purpose.

If one of those is the answer, you saved yourself an after-hours charge and I would rather tell you that on the phone.

What I can fix tonight and what I cannot

I carry capacitors, contactors, float switches, fan motors and refrigerant. A failed capacitor is the most common after-hours no-cool call I get, and it is usually a same-night fix. A contactor with burned points is the same story.

I will be straight with you about the other end of it. A failed compressor is not a midnight repair. A coil that has to be ordered is not a midnight repair. A system that needs replacing does not get replaced at 2am by anybody, and if someone tells you otherwise they are selling something. In those cases I stabilize what I can, tell you plainly where you stand, and we handle it in daylight. If the system turns out to be finished, there is 0% financing through Wells Fargo for qualified buyers, and the replacement cost calculator will give you a real number before we talk.

Fort Myers has its own patterns

The older homes along McGregor Boulevard often have equipment tucked into tight closets and attics, and the ductwork has been worked on by five different people over thirty years. The newer builds out toward Gateway and the Daniels Corridor near Page Field are usually straightforward, but builder-grade equipment starts failing right around the ten-year mark and it always fails in August. Being local to Fort Myers is why I can usually be at the door the same evening rather than the next afternoon.

Most emergency calls were preventable months earlier

I will say the unpopular part. Most of the calls I take at midnight were preventable in the spring. A weak capacitor reads weak long before it dies. A drain line clogs gradually. A contactor pits over a season. All of that shows up on a routine visit, which is why I push yearly maintenance in Fort Myers and the wider tune-up program across Southwest Florida. For anything that is not an emergency, my standard AC repair and HVAC service in Fort Myers page covers normal-hours work, and you can see how I handle after-hours calls in the rest of the region on the Southwest Florida emergency repair page.
